FMC has launched new agricultural commercial operations in Argentina, upon exiting its joint venture (JV) with Ruralco Soluciones.
The new company will support its agricultural solutions business in the country.
From now on, FMC will sell its products including crop protection and plant health products directly through dealers.
As part of this strategy, the company said that it will maintain relationships with local and multinational distributors.
Ruralco will act as a national distribution company for FMC and supply crop protection products of FMC and other companies across Argentina.
FMC Agricultural Solutions, Latin America South business director Luiz Micelli said: “FMC Quimica will facilitate our integration of the FMC and Cheminova product portfolios in Argentina.
“Furthermore, our transition to direct market access reflects the continued evolution and growth of FMC’s business in this market and will facilitate our ability to offer customers FMC’s broader product portfolio and new products from our strong innovation pipeline in the coming years.
“Our five-year joint venture with Ruralco was very successful and we look forward to a new business relationship with them in this important agricultural country.”
FMC was founded in 1883 with the invention of piston sprayer for agriculture. It has been around for more than a century and has provided global agricultural, industrial and consumer markets with solutions, applications and quality products.
The company, at present offers solutions to increase crop yield and quality by controlling a wide range of insects, weeds, diseases through its solutions in pest control. In 2015, the company acquired Cheminova and increased its revenue to $3.3bn.
