Japanese automaker Toyota has expanded its vehicle offerings in Australia with launch of the special edition Camry Atara R.
The vehicle is powered by a 2.5L four-cylinder petrol engine that delivers an output of 133kW and maximum torque of 235Nm when paired with a six-speed automatic transmission, while offering fuel consumption of 7.8L/100km.
Toyota Camry Atara R's exterior enhancements include special edition badging and larger 17-inch alloy wheels compared to the standard 16inch wheels.
The new vehicle comes with front sports bumper and grille, foglights, side skirts, dual exhaust diffuser, three-spoke steering wheel with audio controls, a 6.1inch central display screen and a reversing camera.
Toyota Australia is planning to produce about 2,500 units of the limited edition Atara R models at its Altona plant in Victoria.
Additionally, the special-edition features of Atara R include seven airbags, vehicle stability control and traction control, trip computer, eco indicator, as well as six-speaker audio with auxiliary and USB input.
According to the company, the Toyota Camry held 35.1% share of the total sales in Australia.
