Food safety equipment provider Carometec claims that its bacteria fighting equipment could help prevent foodborne illnesses.
Jeb Supple of Carometec USA, a subsidiary of CarometecA/S, said that contamination and bacteria in food processing environments are very serious issues.
"Our bacteria fighting equipment is made to prevent foodborne illness and keep a sanitary work environment," Supple added.
Automated food handling processes such as hand washing and bacteria fighting equipment could put the food handling industry a step forward and are expected to be necessary in food handling.
Carometec specializes in installing and sales of bacteria fighting equipment. The company provides services to food sanitation and food safety industries.
Recently, Oregon Public Officials, US, investigated an outbreak, which was believed to be Norovirus, a virus that spreads easily and causes foodborne illness.
The investigation revealed that the suspected food is fruit, although it was washed thoroughly prior to serving. However, testing is under way to verify whether Norovirus was the cause and it is suspected that the contamination might have occurred in the kitchen where the fruit was prepared.
