Driven by robust catalogue and web sales, French clothing company Damartex SA witnessed a decent increase in its sales revenue in the first half of FY 2013-14.

The company, which is engaged in the manufacture and distribution of clothing and accessories, reported a 5.3 per cent rise in consolidated sales at 375.5 million euro in the six months ended 31 December 2013 from 356.5 million euro in the same period a year ago.

The company garnered revenue of 252.9 million euro by selling though catalogs in the first half of the financial year ending June 30, 2014, up by 3.4 per cent from the same period a year ago amidst muted growth in the domestic market but stable activity in the UK.

Sales from web activity, however, remained robust, rising by a whopping 41.9 per cent to 26.4 million euro in the six months ended December 31, 2013 from the same period a year ago driven by the result of continues effort made by the company based on customer experience.

Turnover at stores grew 3.1 per cent at 96.1 million euro in H1 FY 2013-14, year on year driven by a rebound in activity in the Belgium market.

In the backdrop of a challenging operating scenario, the company has been undertaking cost optimization efforts and is aiming to continue building brand awareness in both domestic and foreign markets.

Damartex SA which has its main markets in France, Great Britain, Switzerland and Belgium, sells men’s and women’s clothing, under garments, nightwear among other products.
