Purdue Pharma has integrated realtime's bioLock software system into its SAP enterprise system.
The bioLock software is configured to work with Zvetco Verifi P5000 fingerprint scanners, resulting in biometric verification of selected users' identities when performing sensitive or mission-critical functions.
The pharma company has also implemented a customized web-based e-mail application to enable users to authenticate and interact with bioLock from remote workstations.
Purdue Pharma ERP director Eric Goodman said with bioLock, the company now has a secure audit trail that proves who actually performed a financial function.
Realtime North America chief operating officer Thomas Neudenberger said bioLock allows Purdue Pharma to adjust the credentials of each user, controlling access down to the field or transaction level if needed.
"The bioLock™ software system is the only certified biometric solution for identity management, fraud risk mitigation and compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley and HIPAA available today for SAP®," Neudenberger added.
