Haier has claimed a 9.7 per cent global market share in home appliances during 2013, up from 8.6 per cent in 2012, to retain its Number One ranking for the fifth consecutive year, according to UK-based research firm Euromonitor International.
In Australia, Haier reports that its refrigeration business has grown almost 80 per cent in terms of sell-in market share, while its dryer market share has grown by 155 per cent.
Here is Haier brand manager Yvonne Hong:
“Haier is going from strength to strength in the local market supported by cut-through consumer campaigns and increased distribution of our diverse product range designed to suit every consumer type at an affordable price point,” Hong said.
“In the local freezer market we recorded a 56 per cent growth of market share in the 12 months to October 2013. We are delighted with these figures and expect 2014 to be our most successful year yet.
“We are constantly updating and refreshing our models to ensure they fit our customers’ lifestyles and living spaces, and most importantly combine good design, functionality with competitive pricing.”
Hong is soon to take over as the Fisher & Paykel ANZ senior brand manager.
