Coolcore Promoted Kevin Mccarthy to CEO and Appointed Donna L. Flood as Coo

Coolcore, the maker of chemical-free cooling material, promoted Kevin McCarthy to CEO and appointed Donna L. Flood as COO.

ADVERTISEMENT McCarthy, who has been with Coolcore since 2012, has more than 30 years of experience in brand development, sales and marketing.  Prior to Coolcore, McCarthy served in senior level executive positions at KOAR, Power Balance, Perry Ellis, LA Gear, Starter and other global consumer brands.

Flood was previously chief operations officer for Easton Bell Sports (EBS) and president of their Giro and Easton cycling brands.  Prior to EBS, Flood spent 15 years at Reebok International Ltd. holding numerous positions, including global head of apparel product development, vice president of European operations and head of apparel product marketing in Asia.

"Kevin's entrepreneurial background and experience leading the expansion of young companies, coupled with Donna's operational expertise, is a great asset to us as we enter our next phase of growth," said Dennis Ackroyd, Coolcore founder and chief technology officer."

Since launching in January 2011, Coolcore has been focusing on expanding the application of its patented chemical-free materials beyond the athletic market into new categories.  "The applications for our material innovation is virtually unlimited, so it is very exciting to see how we can improve people's quality of life in all aspects of their day," continued Ackroyd.

After launching with cooling towels and athletic accessories, Coolcore spent two years bringing innovation to the recovery market with Dr. Cool, ice and compression in one flexible wrap.

The next application for Coolcore's material innovation was developed in industrial work wear, a category where comfort and productivity lead straight to the bottom line.  Even as it expands into new categories and applications, Coolcore will continue its partnership in the U.S. with Mission Athletecare for the sports category, powering its Enduracool line of performance cooling gear.

"Coolcore's business is ready to explode; this new team is exactly the right talent to properly facilitate our growth into these new markets," said Nick Skally, director of marketing.

Coolcore's materials go far that goes beyond traditional moisture-management textiles by reducing surface temperature of the fabric up to 30 percent and have earned the prestigious "Innovative Technology" recognition from the Hohenstein Institute.
