TCP's new European headquarters
The LED lamp manufacturer Technical Consumer Products (TCP) has begun growing its UK workforce after relocating its European headquarters from the Netherlands to Corby in the UK.
The US company opened its headquarters and lighting showroom in Corby as a result of a £1 million European restructuring programme that is looking to tap into growth in the UK. The firm, which supplies Homebase, is currently home to 15 employees but has enough room to accommodate a trebling of staff numbers. TCP is recruiting 13 more staff members to join its Corby team.
The company has also grown its Paris office and is planning to open a new office in Germany this autumn. This summer, phase two of the site's expansion will see its space double in size to house a merchandising laboratory, testing facilities and more offices.
Thomas Luecke, CEO of TCP's EMEA region said: "Corby has great links to road and rail for both logistics and customer visits and will give us the room to expand and provide an even better service to our customers right across the EMEA region. With sales of our LED lighting being particularly strong in the UK, relocating our headquarters to the UK means that we are now much closer to our major retail and professional lighting customers."
TCP, headquartered near Cleveland in Ohio, started its UK operations in Northampton in 2010. The company employs more than 6,000 people worldwide. With retail customers such as Homebase, TCP is on target to achieve sales of £25 million by the end of 2013.
