Colombiamoda 2013 Is Estimated to Have Generated US$ 250 Million Business

Colombiamoda 2013, held in Medellin combined with the Textiles 2 fair and the Fashion for the World exhibition, is estimated to have generated US$ 250 million business, according to the organizers.
 
Colombiamoda closed with US$ 186 million, Textiles 2 closed with US$46 million and Fashion for the World closed with US$ 18 million in business expectations.
 
The three-day exhibitions held from July 23 to 25, 2013, attracted 65,000 visitors and 1,788 international buyers from 50 countries who attended the fair in three areas of the exhibition, Trade Show, Walkaways and Pavilion of Knowledge.
 
The revenues of the three fairs Colombiamoda, Textiles 2 and Fashion for the World, collectively exceeded expectations, and local and foreign visitors were able to enjoy three shows in one place and could access a trade that represented the entire Fashion System of Colombia.
 
CEO of Inexmoda, Carlos Eduardo Botero Hoyos said, with the support of the Mayor of Medellin the 24th edition of Colombiamoda managed to witness a resounding success and was able to exhibit the entire fashion system.
 
The results of the exhibition demonstrated the efforts Inexmoda made to promote opportunities for partnerships and innovation to strengthen the sector, he added.
 
The three-day exhibition had 27 fashion gateways attended by over 30,000 visitors, including 9 shows belonging to Autumn/Winter 2013-2014 trademarks, 13 shows from various renowned designers, as well as three fashion schools.
 
The highlights of the exhibition included a prelude to the opening show by French-Colombian designer Haider Ackerman, considered to be the ‘Prince of Fashion’ and one of the most representative figures of the fashion world who displayed a collection that celebrated 25 years of the organizer Inexmoda.
 
Top designers showcased their collections during the exhibitions including world renowned designers, Andrea Sanchez, Manuela Alvarez, Francesca Miranda and Silvia Tcherassi.
 
Victoria’s Secret Angel and Brazilian supermodel Alessandra Ambrossio was the guest of honor for fashion designers Francesca Miranda and Adriana Santacruz as well as the fashion house Pink Filisofy and officially opened Colombiamoda 2013.
 
28 students from the Andean University Foundation also presented a collection inspired by the colors of Asian festivals, the rituals of death in Mexico, and African dances on the second day of the fair.
 
The exhibition saw participation of 10 companies from Peru. The neighboring nation completed its sixth appearance at the largest exhibition of fashion in Colombia.
