Dick's Sporting Goods in Memphis, TN, today filed a federal lawsuit in Memphis aganist Kevin L.Boydston, director of industry operations for the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives,Over his bureau's decision to revoke the store's firearms license in Nov.2013. According to the compliant, the cancellation of the firearms license was based on two alleged violations of the Gun Control Act related to a single sale transaction at the store that was done wifully by transferring a firearms to a prohibited buyer.
In its five-page complaint. DKS contends it did not willfully violate the law, suggesting any violation was inadvertent. The Dick's store's store can continue to sell firearms while the court battle continues, the Nashville ATF offiice confirmed.
