Philips has been selected to partner with the New York City's iconic Empire State Building(ESB)to replace the facility's tower lights with innovative LEDs.

With expertise in LED technology,both the organizations utilize dynamic lighting system from Philips Color Kinetics,unique to ESB in order to bring revolutionary real-time lighting scenes to the mast and façade of ESB building.The bright light levels of the new innovative system will highlight the design as well as ESB's architectural features.
Since 1932,ESB's tower lights celebrate several events,milestones,charitable organizations,countries and holidays.The President election of New York-born Franklin Delano Roosevelt was declared using a simple searchlight.Also,United States Bicentennial was honored by ESB installed colored floodlights with colors red,white and blue.The new Philips LED lighting system will now highlight the popular Lighting Partner Program.
The 21st century renovation of ESB includes replacing its traditional light fixtures with LEDs.With the help of a new computerized system,customization of light from a palette of over 16 M colors can be achieved.The existing ten-colored palette will be replaced with LED lights.Almost 400 fixtures in the building need replacement.Base on the recent energy-efficiency technology,ESB professionals anticipate designing and adopting customized lights.
Philips Color Kinetics LED lighting technology will enable leveraging the effect of light giving rise to a desirable lighting consistency.Exceptional lighting designs promote cross-fade,ripple,and particle and burst effects.With the new Philips lighting system,the building's light spill can be brought low,thereby highlighting the facility's façade and mast.This unique illuminating feature will effectively accentuate the building at nights,making it visible from anywhere in NYC.
