OneBigStar Has Supplied Production and Equipment for The Chris Moyles Live Tour

OneBigStar has supplied production and equipment for the Chris Moyles Live tour. Moyles recently took to the road with his long-time breakfast show collaborators Aled Haydn Jones and Dominic Byrne, along with house band, Rockaoke.

Working with Accept Management who provided tour and production management, OBS designed and supplied the scalable set, LED video / mixing, LX and control and mic / IEM packs, along with techs and operators.

The show's format was very much in keeping with the style of the breakfast show and so every night varied in content. Combined with the diversity in in-house

specifications, this ensured that flexibility was a necessity both in pre-production and on the road.

Amongst the production supplied by OBS, and making its UK debut, was the new Chauvet 7mm PVP SMD LED Panels [12m2 4: 3 format] fed with a Roland V800HD Vision Mixer. Other rental stock items included: Green Hippo's Hippotizer HD; 4 x Robe Robin MMX Spots; 12 x Robe Robin LEDBeam 100s; Avolites Titan Mobile wing for laptop with additional touch 23" screen control.

"We met a host of challenges on this one" said OBS operations director Steve Yeardsley. "For one, the set had to be fully scalable due to the varying size of the venues. Secondly, we had to independently fly the screen and some of the effect lighting - mainly due to house flying positions and weight loadings".

"We created a Prolyte-based climbing leg design that incorporated bookends attached to the sleeve blocks. By swapping out horizontal truss lengths, altering the angle of the diagonal side drapes and using climbing legs, we managed to maintain a consistent look across all the various stage dimensions of the venues".

Going on to explain the video requirements, Steve said: "The 7mm screen had to carry three playback sources: pre-produced stings, live twitter feeds and rapidly edited live imagery shot by Moyles and the team on each day, all triggered from Apple MacBooks. The new Roland V800HD coped brilliantly".

The tour played to in excess of 20,000 fans across the country and was promoted by SJM Concerts.
