Volvo Car is set to introduce the next generation of its SUV XC90, which is claimed to be the cleanest and the most powerful SUV in the world.
The SUV will offer 400 horsepower with CO2 emission of around 60 g/km. Volvo is using Twin Engine with a T8 badge. With a push of a button drivers of this brand new SUV will be able to switch from emission-free city driving to the petrol engine and electric motor.
The other range of this SUV includes a D5 twin turbo diesel engine and a D4 turbo diesel engine. It also offers a t6 turbo engine and a T5 turbo engine as well.
It will be the first Volvo to use Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) which would facilitate wider designing possibilities and inclusion of latest safety features
Volvo Car Group's senior vice president research and development, Peter Mertens said: "Since our new SPA technology is designed from the start to accommodate electrification technologies, the Twin Engine installation does not compromise luggage or passenger space."
