KIA Has Revealed a Brand New Urban Concept Car

Kia: Sporty Concept Set for Geneva

Kia has revealed a brand new urban concept car that it will unveil at the upcoming Geneva motor show in March.

Shown in several teaser-style images, the “provocative and racy” new two-door Kia concept sees the Korean brand’s signature tiger-nose – made famous by Kia’s chief design officer and now president, Peter Schreyer – morph into a narrow grille flanked by sharp headlights. A well-sculptured bonnet and deep, expressive front bumper, complete the front end looks.

Prominent wheel arches create a strong shoulder line that moves around to the rear of the car and into a rear tailgate and tail-light arrangement that mirrors the front end.

With twin exhaust pipes, slender wing mirrors, and wheels highlighted by a red ring surrounding a central Kia logo, the car maker says the concept will “exude speed and energy from every angle”.

While details on the car remain light, given a front-wheel-drive hot-hatch from the manufacturer has already being addressed – the Kia pro_cee’d and cee’d GT twins – and Schreyer himself making comments previously about building a genuine sports car, a rear-wheel-drive layout for the coupe could prove a possibility.

The Geneva motor show kicks off on March 7, 2013.
