The US flooring group Mohawk is to acquire the Pergo European and North American laminate flooring operations from Pfleiderer. The share deal includes Pergo LLC and Pergo AB, with production facilities in North America and Sweden, as well as patent rights pooled in Pergo’s Intellectual Property division. An agreement inked by Pfleiderer and Mohawk in early October took effect on 29 October 2012 after approval from banks involved with Pfleiderer and Pergo. The purchase price was US$150m. The transaction is to close at the end of the first quarter of 2013 at the latest following approval by anti-trust authorities and once closing conditions have been met.
