Chesapeake's investment programme has continued with the addition of a Perfecta guillotine to its Tewkesbury operation
The Perfecta 132TS Flowline is a high speed, heavy duty precision guillotine with pre- and post-cut handling. Chesapeake bought the equipment, from UK distributor Intelligent Finishing Systems.
The pharmaceutical and healthcare packaging division had already installed a Perfecta 132 TS Flowline at Tekesbury and one at its Greenford site. Chesapeake's Shannon Way site has also installed a KBA Rapida 106 B1 printing press.
Mark Wilson general manager of Chesapeake's Leaflets UK & Ireland business said: "Tewkesbury had previously been a B2 site so we clearly needed a system to support the new press and our increased maximum sheet size of 1060 x 740mm. The Perfecta 132TS Flowline was chosen because it is a proven solution in this sector.
"It offers the right levels of flexibility and functionality while remaining a cost effective solution. It also brings the most advanced levels of touch screen technology, along with the ability to recall previous set ups. As it is CIP3 compliant, it will be included in our existing SFDC set up."
In May, Chesapeake's Leicester site bought a Komori Lithrone GLX640 press and Heidelberg Diana X 80 folder gluer.
