PSA Peugeot Citron is preparing to boost its vehicles production by 10% at its European plants by the end of August.
The move is part of the company's strategy to meet the increasing demand in the domestic markets.
With the latest plan, PSA Peugeot Citron will produce more than 60,000 additional vehicles than initially planned for the period.
Volumes of Peugeot, Citron and DS branded vehicles will be ramped up in particular for the 208, 2008 and 308, including the 308 SW version.
In addition to increase in production of DS 3 units in Poissy, France, the company will also increase volumes across its utility vehicles range.
PSA Peugeot Citron Europe executive vice president and operational director Denis Martin said: "Growth in the European market is very good news for the entire automotive industry, from plants to dealership networks to suppliers.
"With the support of our suppliers, and thanks to the flexibility provided for in the agreements signed with employee representatives, we are mobilizing all our resources to meet demand from our customers."
As part of the plan, operations will be accelerated at the company's engine and gearbox plants in France.
The increase in production is expected to support the region with additional jobs.
