Mirko van den Winkel
NEW YORK — Mirko van den Winkel has been named executive vice president at Moroso USA, a high-end upholstered furniture, seating and table manufacturer based in Italy with American headquarters in New York.
Winkel replaces George Kordaris, who was CEO of Moroso USA.
Winkel will report to Roberto Moroso, CEO of Moroso SpA and president of Moroso USA. Winkel was most recently a business consultant whose firm, MVDW, worked with design brands including Established & Sons and Quinze & Milan BVBA. Previously, he was an area manager for Moroso SpA from 1994 to 2008.
"Mirko's proven track record of sales and marketing expertise, combined with a unique understanding of, sensitivity towards and experience with design-driven companies, gives us all great confidence that he will be very successful in realizing our U.S. goals," said Roberto Moroso.
"My last few years working as a consultant, organizer, writer, etc. have been extremely creative, varied and interesting, and I've met many great people and companies all over Europe," Winkel said. "But increasingly, I missed the feeling of being on the ‘frontline' with a major player. This is where the real action is. I intend to make Moroso stronger in America and bring Americans closer to Moroso to increase the dialogue.
