Amway has opened a new $42m nutrition manufacturing and R&D facility in Buena Park in the US state of California.
The new facility is a part of the company's ongoing $332m manufacturing expansion strategy to open five facilities this year.
Amway chairman Steve Van Andel said: "These facilities are a key part of the brand's future and we couldn't be more excited to continue the legacy of nutrition manufacturing from this site in California."
Spread over an area of 60,000ft2, the facility will manufacture vitamins, minerals and dietary supplements that are sold under Nutrilite brand. It will procure raw ingredients in powdered form from Nutrilite farms and turn them into tablets.
Amway said that the plant supports ingredient granulation, which is the mid-step in the manufacturing process of vitamin and mineral tablets, including Nutrilite Double X and Nutrilite supplements.
The facility meets the US Green Building Council's Leadership in Energy & Environmental Design silver certification standards.
