The Textang II textile plant based in Cazenga district of Luanda province would restart production towards end of 2013, according to Angolan Minister of Industry Bernarda da Silva.
Briefing media prior to the National Industry Day celebration, the Minister said Japanese technicians are working on revival of the factory with the help of Angolans and the first trial run is scheduled to start in December 2013.
The total cost of revival is expected to come to around 20 billion kwanza, she added.
The plant that remained un-operational for over 20 years is now being revived as a part of the Angolan Government’s programme aimed at diversifying the country’s economy and reviving the manufacturing sector.
