ITRI,Taiwan makers win SEMI certification for solar cell testing industry standard Nuying Huang,Taipei;Adam Hwang,DIGITIMES[Thursday 4 October 2012]Taiwan government-sponsored Industrial Technology Research Institute(ITRI)and several Taiwan-based makers have received certification from the Semiconductor Equipment and Materials International(SEMI)for a solution for testing vibration during transportation of crystalline silicon solar cells.
The solution jointly developed by ITRI and the makers has been certified as an international PV industry standard with code name SEMI PV38-0912,according to ITRI.
The solution is a method for testing impact of vibration on solar cells under any transportation condition by any vehicle to evaluate defects caused by the vibration on solar cells,ITRI pointed out.
The Taiwan-based makers in the joint development are DeSolar,King Design Industrial,TeraSolar Energy Materials,Gran Systems and S.I.Energy Technology,ITRI indicated.
