Italian provider of stretch blow molding machines SIPA has updated its ROBBY RACK Robot, which has been designed to handle huge returnable bottles into racks for washing, refilling and storage.

Equipped with a control system, the six-axis robot incorporates various functions such as torque control and identification of the load wrist required for the large payloads of 120kgs and more.

The ROBBY RACK Robot has a small footprint and can be adapted to each bottle size and shape. With a capacity to carry out palletizing and de-palletizing cycles, the robot runs at 500 cycles per hour at a maximum speed of 2,600 bottles per hour.

It has a compact modular head with various gripping points and has a number of heads which include heads with up to ten grippers for racking round bottles, combination gripping heads for triangular bottles and heads designed specially for the de-racking cycles.

The gripping heads of the robot have been designed for quick change.
