Mando, a part of Halla Group, has opened a new auto parts facility in Meriwether, Georgia, US marking its second plant in the state.
The new plant can accommodate 170,000 rack type-electronic power steering (R-EPS) systems, 600,000 electronic stability controls (ESC). It also comprises a steel-casting facility capable of producing 18,000 tons of goods per year.
Mando plans to expand the plant's ESC capacity to one million units over the next four years.
The facility will make electronic components that are used in half-a-million vehicles annually.
A Mando source said: "The latest plant will permit the car parts manufacturer to better cope with moves by automakers to make more upscale, sophisticated cars."
Apart from the US, Mando's operations are also spread across Poland, India, Brazil, Turkey and China.
