Swedish automobile manufacturer Volvo's subsidiary Volvo Trucks has revealed the new FM truck ahead of its debut at the Commercial Vehicles show in Birmingham, England to be held during 09-11 April 2013.
The truck is made available with two engine versions including the 11L and 13L engines that are claimed to comply with the Euro VI regulations, which are expected to come into force by 2014.
Volvo Trucks president Claes Nilsson said that the new Volvo FM is can be customized to suit individual needs.
"To improve fuel efficiency, the I-See system, which can cut diesel consumption with of up to five percent, is now also available on the FM," Nilsson added.
Production of the trucks is scheduled to start in September 2013.
Features of the vehicle include lower weight, new axle configurations, increased chassis flexibility and clear interfaces for bodybuilders.
