Under this collaboration, Audi will research into e-gasoline apart from its e-gas and e-diesel projects.

This move by the company is aimed at finding alternative fuels. e-gasoline is part of the overall Audi e-fuels strategy.

The luxury carmaker is currently operating a research facility for the production of e-ethanol and e-diesel in Hobbs, New Mexico in collaboration with its partner Joule.

AUDI sustainable product development head Reiner Mangold said that the company is taking another step closer to carbon-neutral mobility with its partners at Global Bioenergies.

"We are supporting an innovative technology here which can be used to produce renewable fuel. This process does not create competition with food production and farmland," Mangold added.
