Toy retail giant Toys R Us has appointed Melanie Teed-Murch as president of its Canadian operations.
From September 1st, Teed-Murch will oversee the operations and business activities for the company’s Toys R Us and Babies R Us stores and e-commerce channel in Canada.
She will also be responsible for the continued growth, profitability and success of the company in the market and will report to chairman and CEO of Toys R Us, Dave Brandon.
“I am thrilled that Melanie will be taking on this leadership role,” said Brandon. “Her deep experience in retail and drive for results, coupled with her strong relationships across our global teams and vendor community, give me great confidence in her ability to achieve our growth goals in Canada.”
Teed-Murch has held a number of senior roles within Toys R Us since joining the retailer in 1996 with roles including Canada’s chief merchant.
She replaces Kevin McNab who was promoted to executive vice president, special assistant and office chairman, toys R Us back in 2015.
