Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM), Indian production and sales subsidiary of Toyota Motor Corporation (TMC), has launched the first locally manufactured hybrid vehicle, the new Camry Hybrid.
The new hybrid is powered by a 2.5L beltless petrol engine combined with an electric motor that jointly generate an output of 205ps when paired to an electronically controlled continuous variable transmission (E-CVT).
Camry Hybrid is claimed to offer fuel consumption of 19.16km/L and produce CO2 emissions of 122.8gm/km.
TKM managing director and chief executive officer Hiroshi Nakagawa said the Camry Hybrid is India's first locally manufactured hybrid vehicle.
"This is in line with Toyota's global philosophy to encourage the use of hybrid vehicles across the globe, for a greener tomorrow," Nakagawa added.
The vehicle also comes with the new luxury features including power recline rear seat with rear armrest controls, power sunshade for rear windshield as well as three zone air conditioning with individual temperature controls for the driver, front passenger and rear passenger.
Features of the vehicle include new radiator grille, bumper, fog lamp bezel, LED headlamps, rear fog lamps, 17-inch alloy wheels, auto folding and reverse linked ORVM's with Memory as well as acoustic glass.
Additionally, the vehicle features four SRS airbags, hill start assist control, vehicle stability control, traction control and back monitors with corner sensors.
