New York base reinsurer, Transatlantic Holdings (TransRe) has appointed Robert Saville as the new senior vice president and head of Underwriting for the Asia-Pacific region.
Saville, who holds more than 22 years of reinsurance experience, will operate from the new Singapore office of Transatlantic Reinsurance Company.
Prior to joining TransRe, Saville held a number of senior underwriting positions in Asia and London, and spent the past 16 years in Hong Kong and Singapore.
TransRe International Operations president Paul Bonny said, ''Opening an office in Singapore will place us firmly in the SE Asia Reinsurance arena as well as provide a further hub to build out our Asia Pacific platform."
A wholly owned subsidiary of Alleghany Corporation, TransRe provides reinsurance capacity on both a treaty and facultative basis, structuring programs for a wide range of property and casualty products worldwide since 1978.
