UK-based supermarket chain Asda is recalling its Chosen by You Chicken & Mushroom Noodle Pouch as the product contains shellfish powder with prawns that is not mentioned on the label, according to the Food Standards Agency (FSA).
The product being recalled is Asda Chosen by You Chicken & Mushroom Noodle Pouch of 400g. It bears 'use by' dates of 22 and 23 April 2013.
This product has been packed with a wrong marinade made with shellfish powder containing prawns, according to the company.
Asda has withdrawn the above date codes of the product from sale. Customer notices have been displayed in stores, explaining the customers the reason behind the withdrawal.
In addition, the retailer will also contact the relevant allergy support organisations, which will inform their members about the withdrawal.
Customers intolerant to prawns (crustaceans) are advised not to eat this product, but return it to the nearest Asda store for a full refund. No other Asda products are known to be affected.
