Nissan is all set to introduce self parking cars by 2016, becoming the first company to offer such feature to drivers.
The company also plans to introduce a technology that would enable cars to autonomously navigate through congested highways.
These two technologies are expected to arrive in a wide range of its vehicles.
Nissan aims at creating vehicles that could handle intersections on their own by the year 2020.
It will thus join the ranks of companies like Toyota and Ford who are using similar technology to their vehicles but not on a scale that Nissan plans it to launch.
Nissan Motor CEO Carlos Ghosn said: "The first automakers to introduce automated-driving features will have an advantage as new technologies are associated with the brands that introduced them."
The Japanese car maker aims to create driver less vehicles, a concept that Google has already introduced.
