German packaging company Bericap Holding’s Indian arm will widen its product portfolio in the country this year. The company plans to foray into specialty segments such as lube and edible oils and expand in the bottle water segment.
Bericap India unit sales & marketing director Javareh Daroga said the company has a plant in Talegoan with an installed capacity of more than one billion closures annually and expects further growth from product conversion from glass to PET, plasticsnews.com reported.
"On the specialty front the growth will be driven by customer's demand for elegant packaging that enhances brand value, the requirement of anti-counterfeit solutions, and storage & dispensing options," Daroga said.
Majority of the caps and closures manufacturers in India use the compression molding technology, which is not capital intensive compared to injection molding.
