Allpax, a division of Pro Mach has introduced a new reciprocating motion technology for microwaveable food containers to address the needs of the consumers, brand owners and contract packagers.
Allpax vice president and general manager Greg Jacob commenting on the new technology said, "Motion can be added to existing static retorts without a penalty in batch capacity."
The technology enables reduction in cycle time by 30 to 50% for each retort batch, depending on product and speed of agitation, and also improves the taste of the food. For instance, burn on or dairy products scorching is removed and hydration of high starch foods such as beans is accelerated uniformly.
According to Allpax, every horizontally oriented container experiences the same agitation profile, in the gentle motion process. With this, uniformity will be produced in heat transfer within the package and consistency in taste among packages.
US-based Pro Mach provides integrated packaging products and solutions for food, beverage, household goods, pharmaceutical and other diverse consumer and industrial companies.
