Newburyport Brewing Invests in Rhode Island Contract Outfit

Newburyport Brewing is investing in the Isle Brewers Guild (IBG) located at 461 Main Street, Pawtucket, Rhode Island.

IBG's $12m, 130,000 ft2 facility is a world-class craft brewery complete with a US-made 100-barrel brewhouse, state-of-the-art packaging lines, tasting room, indoor and outdoor event space, classroom space, and company offices.

IBG will have an initial capacity of 60,000 barrels when it opens in late 2016 with room to grow to 150,000 barrels in the coming years.

Newburyport Brewing's co-founder Chris Webb said: "We haven't been able to keep up with demand since the day we first opened our brewery in Newburyport, MA.

"Our IBG partnership is a key solution to our capacity constraints -- this sister brewery will allow us to meet growing local demand and expand the reach of our year-round and seasonal offerings in new markets."

With additional capacity comes territory growth. The brewery recently inked an agreement with C&C Distributors in West Greenwich, Rhode Island, which will distribute Newburyport Brewing's lineup of award-winning craft beers in mid-October 2016: Green Head IPA, Plum Island Belgian White, Newburyport Pale Ale, Melt Away Session IPA, Das Kölsch, and 1635 Series limited release beers.

C&C Distributorssales vice president Bob Zanella said: "Newburyport Brewing strengthens our portfolio of premier craft beer offerings.

"Every beer from Newburyport Brewing has impressed our team and I am confident our local Rhode Island craft customers will appreciate the brewery's commitment to quality and consistency. It's exciting to have another world-class brewery right here in Pawtucket."

Newburyport Brewing's co-founder Bill Fisher said: "We thank our local consumers, retail businesses and musicians throughout the region for helping make this next step in our growth possible.

"IBG will have cutting-edge brewing and packaging technology to ensure that our craft beers continue to meet our high expectations and enable us to innovate. We're fired up to be part of the Rhode Island brewing community."

First tap celebrations will take place at the following venues:

10/5 - Tap Takeover at The Malted Barley, 334 Westminster Street, Providence, RI - 7:00pm to 9:00pm

10/6 - Tap Takeover at Thirsty Beaver, 288 Atwood Avenue, Cranston, RI - 7:00pm to 9:00pm

10/14 - Beervana Fest, 60 Rhodes Place, Cranston, RI - 6:30pm to 10:00pm

Newburyport Brewing is in its fourth year of business and will produce more than 15,000 barrels of beer this calendar year. Rhode Island represents Newburyport Brewing's third territory, joining Massachusetts and New Hampshire.

Its Newburyport Pale Ale has been served on Delta Air Lines' Northeast Regional Shuttle since 2014.
