The Sale of GM's China Adds up 21.3% in May 2012

US carmaker General Motors and its joint ventures have sold 231,183 vehicles in China, marking 21.3% rise in May 2012, over the same period in 2011.

Shanghai GM has reported 7.1% rise in its domestic vehicle sales during the period to 99,113 units, while SAIC-GM-Wuling's sales increased 35.9% to127,749 vehicles.

FAW-GM in the otherhand reported 0.7% decline over the same period 2011.

During the initial five months of 2012, GM and its joint ventures have recorded 11.5% rise in sales in China to 1,203,552 vehicles when compared to the same period in 2011.

Shanghai GM has reported 6.45 rise in its domestic sales to 530,422 units during the first five months, while SAIC-GM-Wuling's domestic sales increased16.6% to 645,020 units and sales of FAW-GM decreased 3.5% during the initial five months.

In 2011, GM has sold about 2.5 million vehicles in China.
