All these trucks will be delivered to several communities in rural regions of Brazil by the end of 2013.

The large order by the Brazilian government is part of an initiative conducted in the framework of the national economic program PAC-2, to support agricultural family businesses.

Mercedes-Benz Trucks Europe and Latin America head Stefan Buchner said: "With sales of around 27,000 trucks until August of this year, Brazil is the world's strongest sales market for Mercedes-Benz trucks."

Besides this, the company has recently received an order for 2,100 Mercedes-Benz bus chassis from four public transport operators in a tender of Brasília's city government, which are to be delivered by December 2013.

In October 2012, Mercedes-Benz do Brasil received a government order for over 2,100 Mercedes-Benz trucks and vans for different areas of application.
