German automobile manufacturer Mercedes-Benz has unveiled the 2014 CLA250 and CLA250 4MATIC- all wheel drivw (AWD) at the ongoing North American International Auto Show in Detroit, US.
The vehicles are powered by the 2L four-cylinder gasoline engine paired with a seven speed dual clutch transmission that generates an output of 208hp and 258lbft of torque and is available with the ECO stop/start function.
The company plans to launch the CLA250 in September 2013 and the CLA250 4MATIC by spring of 2014.
Mercedes-Benz head Dr Dieter Zetsche said that the CLA is a car that does not confuse 'mid-size' with 'mid-quality'.
"Its sporty design underscores the sporty side of the Mercedes-Benz brand," Zetsche said.
The car comes with radar-based assistance system, brake assist, collision prevention assist, the hood with power domes, the diamond-look grille, LEDs behind the headlamp lens, the daytime running lights and indicators.
Features of the car include panorama sunroof, instrument panel with five air vents, McPherson strut suspension at the front, multilink suspension at the rear, the wheel mounts and spring guides made from aluminum and electromechanical power steering.
The safety features include driver assistance, blind spot assist, lane keeping Assist and parking assist.
Both the vehicles will have 17inch, 5-spoke, two-tone wheels with run-flat tires, while the sport package comes with 18inch AMG twin 5-spoke wheels and perforated front discs.
In addition, the cars include the 5.8inch display and bluetooth, central controller, hard-drive navigation, voice control, SD card slot, rearview camera and SiriusXM Traffic & Weather.
