Cooper Standard has opened two new facilities in Chinese provinces of Jiangsu and Chongqing.
As part of its strategic expansion in automotive market in the country, Cooper Standard has started two faciltieis in the Chinese province of Jiangsu and in Chingqing city.
The Jiangsu facility was opened under the joint venture between Cooper Standard and Japan INOAC.
Jiangsu facility will manufacture and develop fluid transfer systems (FTS) products to strengthen company's position in Chinese automotive market.
Cooper Standard opened the other facility in Chongqing.
This facility is approximately 18,000 square meters in area and it has 200 employees working there. At this facility, the company will produce fluid transfer system (FTS), fuel and brake delivery (FBD) systems and sealing systems for customers such as Ford, Mercedes-Benz and Volvo.
Cooper Standard, chairman and CEO, Jeffrey Edwards said: "The opening of our Huai'an and Chongqing facilities is a further testament to Cooper Standard's commitment to our customers and the Chinese automotive market."
"Since 2012, we have more than doubled our investment in the area and are now pleased to employ more than 5,200 employees in 11 manufacturing and technical facilities across the country."
With a focus on China, Cooper Standard has been speeding up its business development in the Asia Pacific region.
The company had also recently established a Technical Center in Shanghai. This is a test center where its FTS products are tested.
It also acquired majority ownership in its joint venture with Huayu Automotive, a domestic supplier in China.
