Home furnishings Internet marketing company FurnitureDealer.Net is leaving the Retailer Resource Center at the World Market Center in Las Vegas to open what it will call the Hangout Lounge in Building B.
The 1,500-square-foot space, B-280, was modeled after premium frequent flyer lounges, the company said, and includes 60-inch television monitors for work and play, two lounge areas, bar-height tables and seating and a mini-kitchen, bar and "well-stocked commercial refrigerator."
FurnitureDealer.Net will serve hot breakfast, lunch, snacks, coffee and cocktails each day, entertaining existing clients, including Furniture Marketing Group members, and other invited guests.
"Space B-280 has been designed as the ideal place for our clients to meet colleagues, share ideas, enjoy impromptu get-togethers and simply hang out before, during and after market appointments and special events," said Andy Bernstein, FurnitureDealer.Net founder and chief executive.
A grand opening celebration is scheduled for opening day, Jan. 26, at 10 a.m.
Bernstein said past furniture markets were a way for his company to sell websites for new customers, but the company's role has changed to include acting as a facilitator of collaborative efforts among "best-in-class" retailers.
"Today, we are committed to a much more exclusive partnership strategy that is focused on building community, sharing ideas, networking and helping our retail clients become more successful as multi-channel retailers," he said.
"The furniture markets are an ideal time for us to get together with clients, and we are excited to have our own private space with comfortable meeting areas to ‘hang out,' listen to the challenges and opportunities they are facing, share ideas, insights and successes, meet as groups to discuss important topics, collaborate and develop action plans," he said.
