Acura Will Recall About 76,000 Vehicles in The Us

Acura, the luxury vehicle division of Japanese automaker Honda Motor, will recall about 76,000 vehicles in the US, due to corrosion of the electronic control unit.

The recall affects the TSX sedans of 2004-2008 model years in 22 US states and Washington DC.

The electronic control unit (ECU) of the vehicle packaged in a metal case is located under the vehicle dashboard covered by the carpet, which can be saturated by the salt and water from drivers' shoes causing damage to the ECU and resulting in the vehicle stalling.

As a part of the recall scheduled to start in April 2013, the company will install a water resistant cover over the ECU.

The company claims that no crashes or injuries have been reported related to this issue.

Earlier, Honda had recalled 182,800 units in the US, over the malfunction of the vehicle stability assist (VSA) system.
