United Processing, an establishment based in New York, is recalling about 12,600 pounds of boneless veal products as they may be contaminated with E. coli O157:H7, E. coli O145 and E. coli O45.
According to the US Department of Agriculture's Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS), the product being recalled is 60lb. boxes of boneless veal.
The affected product bears the establishment number 'M- 27450' inside the USDA mark of inspection. These products were produced on 17, 18, 24, 28 and 29 June 2013 then distributed to wholesalers in New York and California for further processing.
FSIS found the problem during inspection program personnel review. The company sampled the product as per its food safety program, and inadvertently shipped the product into commerce.
FSIS and United Processing have received no reports of illnesses associated with consumption of these products.
