Maya Romanoff,the largest manufacturer of handcrafted wallcoverings in the USA,opened their flagship showroom in early February in Chicago's storied Merchandise Mart.Having recently celebrated their 40th Anniversary,Maya Romanoff will use the new showroom to showcase the brand's celebrated wallcoverings and surfacing materials in innovative ways.
The new showroom allows guests to become completely immersed in the materials,says JoyceRomanoff,President of Maya Romanoff Corp."Visitors gain a wholly different understanding of the impact of our wallcoverings and fabrics.It is a joy to welcome architects,designers and their clients who have known us for years,but now get a completely different sense of what it is like to live with our materials."Of the showroom's locale,she adds,"We are and have always been a Chicago company.The site of our flagship showroom had to be the Merchandise Mart."
From the sixty foot brand/product entryway the showroom incorporates innovative,custom displays to exhibit the quality and detail given to each Maya Romanoff product.Large-scale sample presentations inform designers of the product range and potential applications to most any project type and context.Design Collaboratives,Chicago,envisioned and implemented the groundbreaking architecture and interior design for the new showroom,incorporating preliminary design ideas from the Rockwell Group,New York.
