The new Busch R 5 0155 A vacuum pump is one of the new developments that Busch is presenting for the first time at IFFA 2013 in Frankfurt. The R 5 0155 A expands the renowned R 5 series of rotary vane vacuum pumps, which have been used for decades in high-quality vacuum packing machines.
With this vacuum pump, Busch development engineers have succeeded in creating a new generation with improved energy-efficiency thanks to a modified design principle.
The pumping speed has also been optimised in the ultimate pressure range, enabling faster pump-down times and achieving shorter packing cycles. Furthermore, despite these changes, the usual reliability and robustness of R 5 rotary vane vacuum pumps remains guaranteed. With a pumping speed of 150 cubic metres per hour (50 Hz) and an ultimate pressure of 0.1 mbar, the R 5 0155 A is ideal for continuous operation in the rough vacuum range, for pumping out large volumes and when working at ultimate pressure. This is ensured thanks to the perfect oil separation which uses Busch exhaust filters developed in-house and hard-wearing vanes made from composite. Busch exhaust filters have a high permeability and are optimally adapted to this vacuum pump, thus ensuring that a high pumping speed is reached. At the same time, the new exhaust filters guarantee maximum separating performance.
The compact dimensions enable this new Busch vacuum pump to be easily integrated into a packing machine, even in confined conditions.
Maintenance can be performed by the operator and is limited to oil changes and the replacement of filters at the usual service intervals. A gas ballast valve (optional) enables the extraction of humid air so that damp and wet foods can be safely and reliably packaged.
