Indian automobile production has risen 7.65% to 1,700,675 vehicles in June 2012 when compared 1,597,082 in June 2011, according to the society of Indian automobile manufacturers.
During April-June 2012, the country's domestic sales reported 9.94% rise over 15.14% recorded during the same period last year.
Sales of passenger vehicles segment increased 9.71%, passenger cars rose 5.22%, utility vehicle sales reported 50.85% rise while sales of vans declined 9.6% during April-June 2012 as compared to same period last year.
The overall Commercial Vehicles segment sales reported 6.06% rise in April-June 2012 when compared to 14.10% rise recorded during the same period last year.
Sales of medium & heavy commercial vehicles (M&HCVs) declined 11.99% and light commercial vehicles reported 19.92% rise during the period.
Overall automobile exports during April-June 2012 declined 1.22%, while passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles and two wheelers reported 14%, 7.98% and 2.63% respectively in April-June 2012.
