FCA has secured an order to supply 9,113 units of 2016 Ram ProMaster 2500 cargo vans to the United States Postal Service (USPS).
The selected cargo van features gasoline-fueled 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine, and is capable of producing 280 horsepower, and the engine provides six-speed automatic transmission and front-wheel drive.
The van is capable of accelerating from 0-60mph in 8.1 seconds and has top speed of 99mph.
The engine is paired with smooth-shifting, six-speed automatic transmission, which has been specifically updated to accommodate the ProMaster's cargo-hauling capability.
According to FCA the 2016, Ram ProMaster 2500 provides comfortable driving ergonomics.
The cargo area also features the vertical walls in the segment to allow shelving upfits while taking full advantage of extra space.
Ram truck comes with more than 35 safety and security features which include electronic stability control, ParkView rear backup camera and ParkSense rear park assist with audible warning.
The Postal Service operates one of the largest vehicle fleets in the US, which includes 190,000 vehicles to collect and deliver mail.
FCA Fleet Operations vice president Tim Kuniskis said: "While each and every one of our fleet customers is important to us, none command our attention like USPS.
"I can't think of another more mission-critical service than literally delivering the goods of our nation on a daily basis, and we are honored that USPS chose the Ram ProMaster to help them meet their challenging duty."
The USPS still uses Grumman LLV vehicle, which is specifically designed for the US postal service.
The vehicle's body and final assembly is done by Grumman and the 2.2L I-4 iron block/aluminum head engine is manufactured by General Motors.
