Swedish commercial vehicle manufacturer Scania has received an order for 1,500 Scania Euro 6 trucks from British transport companies Eddie Stobart and AW Jenkinson Forest Products.
The order was placed under a new joint-procurement agreement between Scania and the two companies and will be completed over a period of two years.
The deal will involve the supply of vehicles with a wide variety of specifications and designed for a wide range of transport applications, including G- and R-series trucks.
Scania's service network will handle the repair and maintenance of these vehicles in the UK.
Stobart Group chief operating officer William Stobart said "We saw no reason but to continue this relationship as we enter into Euro 6 production, with the new deal giving us a lot of flexibility going forward."
Eddie Stobart, part of Stobart Group, is a transportation company. Currently, it operates fleet of 2,500 vehicles. AW Jenkinson Forest Products is a UK-based supplier of woodchip and bark products.
