Conagra Foods Recalls 14,000 Cases of Its Orville Redenbacher's Classic Kettle Korn

ConAgra Foods is voluntarily recalling approximately 14,000 cases of its Orville Redenbacher’s Classic Kettle Korn flavored ready-to-eat popcorn as they may contain milk that is not mentioned on the product label.

The recall was initiated after a consumer found white cheddar flavored popcorn in a Kettle Korn package and contacted the company. ConAgra Foods has taken the precautionary measure of notifying the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

According to the company, certain bags of the Kettle Korn flavored ready-to-eat popcorn may have been filled with white cheddar flavored popcorn, which contains milk.

The product being recalled, Orville Redenbacher's Classic Kettle Korn flavored popcorn, is packed in 5.0oz. and 1.5oz. red poly bags with an Orville Redenbacher's Ready-to-Eat graphic logo and picture of the popcorn product on the front panel.

The affected products bear the following UPC and Best By dates - Orville Redenbacher's Classic Kettle Korn 5.0oz. pack with case UPC: 27000 52321, unit UPC: 0 27000 52321 6, lot codes: 5486234100, 5486234200, 5486234300 and best by dates: SEP 02 2013, SEP 03 2013, SEP 04 2013; and Orville Redenbacher's Classic Kettle Korn 1.5oz.packs with case UPC: 27000 52325, unit UPC: 0 27000 52325 4, lot Codes: 5486234200, 5486234300 and best by dates: SEP 03 2013, SEP 04 2013.

ConAgra Foods stated that it will work with retail customers to ensure that the recalled products are removed from store shelves.

The company is also issuing an alert through Food Allergy Research & Education (FARE) in an effort to notify any potentially impacted consumers.
