Water soluble films manufacturer in the US MonoSol has launched its new transparent Vivos Edible Delivery Systems. Vivos edible film is used to make pre-portioned pouches which deliver food products designed for use in hot or cold water.
According to the company, water soluble and edible pouches engineered from Vivos films disappear and release their contents when exposed to hot or cold liquids and the melted film can then be consumed along with the food.
The edible film has no smell or taste when consumed and offers good oxygen barrier properties while displaying good mechanical properties.
MonoSol, which was acquired by Japan-based Kuraray offers a wide range of water-soluble delivery systems for unit-dose applications.
