South Korean automobile manufacturer Kia Motor has unveiled Cross GT concept hybrid vehicle at the 2013 Chicago Auto Show in the US.
The new vehicle will be powered by the 3.8LV6 hybrid engine mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission and pancake-shaped electric motor that combine to generate output of 400hp and 500lbft of torque with an electric range of 20miles.
Kia Motors design president and global chief Peter Schreyer said that the debut of the GT in 2011 heralded a new frontier for Kia, both from a design and a business perspective.
"The Cross GT, with its raised stance and large cargo area, allows us to envision the GT in the form of a full-size luxury crossover." Schreyer added.
The Cross GT was designed at the Kia Design Center America (KDCA) in Irvine, California, where models including the Track'ster, KV7 and the 2014 Forte sedan were designed.
