Crystalline silicon solar cell and PV module maker Neo Solar Power on June 4 unveiled three new PV modules at the 2014 Intersolar Europe exhibition taking place in Munich, Germany, during June 4-6.
The new products include: Super made up of 72 Super19 polycrystalline silicon solar cells with power output of 330W; Power made up of 72 Black20 monocrystalline solar cells with a power generating rate of 335W; and PowerH consisting of 144 vertically-cut half Black20 solar cells, equivalent to 72 Black20 solar cells, and power output of 340W, Neo Solar indicated. Vertically cutting solar cells reduces power loss and PowerH is more expensive than Power due to additional production cost for cutting, Neo Solar explained. Super19 and Black20 are PERC (passivated emitter and rear cell) solar cells with less possibility of power decay in comparison with conventional solar cells, Neo Solar noted.
Neo Solar currently has total annual PV module production capacity of 480MWp, 260MWp in Taiwan and 220MWp in China, the company indicated.
Neo Solar on June 4 reported consolidated revenues of NT$2.624 billion (US$87.0 million) for May, hitting a monthly record for the third consecutive time, and NT$12.456 billion for January-May, hiking on year by 163.41%.
