Recently, Baosteel gets a new member of its 3rd Generation super high tensile steel product——the world debut of super high tensile steel QP980 hot galvanizing product is launched. Compared with the super high tensile cold rolling product launched last year, it has stronger corrosion resistance to meet individual requirements of materials by automobile users better, which effectively support the light weight development of automobile industry and energy conservation & emission reduction of cars' full life-cycle.
The 3rd Generation super high tensile steel becomes the research focus of every steel corporation in the world due to its superior performance, comparatively low cost, prominent advantage of industrialization and market competitiveness. However, the product sets high requirements for producing equipment and operating personnel of the whole process,thus no enterprise has achieved stable mass production before. Last year, Baosteel successfully launched the world debut of its 3rd Generation super high tensile cold rolling product and it has been largely applied to FAW cars. Meanwhile, the product successfully entered into ASP lab for evaluation. ASP engineers reported the favorable results to US Department of Energy and suggested promoting its application to the materials of automobile bodies in America.
